Bouncy

So once again San Francisco was the site of an amazing art project. Well, this one's not so much an art project as a stunningly beautiful commercial, but since we're not buying a Sony BRAVIA, it's art to me. BRAVIA.jpg
I did, however, buy from iTunes the lovely Elliott Smith–like song to which the commercial is set, "Heartbeat" by José González, and I'm thinking seriously about picking up a few thousand bouncy balls as well.

Nae, isn't it nice to know your artsy ideas have been replicated? Everyday art. Love it.

RT, I was the copycat. That bookstore was the original inspiration. (You are talking about the books, right?)

No, I meant the balls... ; ) (I can just see you and Jason sending colorful bouncies down 8th St.) It occurred to me late last night that you were indeed the book copycat. Silly me; I blame it on illness.

Jenny's fiance Jason wanted everyone to bounce bouncy balls instead of throwing rose petals at their wedding. Jenny didn't think that was a good idea due to...oh, say...danger.

Ha! That is *awesome*. Ultimately, though, I'd have to go with the veto that Jason so often used for our wedding: "That's a great sentiment but not a very good idea." If you can believe it, I remember feeling pelted by a couple of handfuls of rose petals (did you people ball them up like snowballs or what?), so, yeah, bouncy balls would hurt. (And they probably wouldn't actually bounce so well on the snow in Nebraska in December either.) Seriously, though, I love the mental picture.

There's a moment in the "behind the scenes" video where you see the directors and camera crew diving for cover as the mass of superballs hurtles towards them. It looked like they were wearing riot gear complete with superballproof plastic shields.

Something tells me that nixing the recessional bounciness was the height of wisdom.

Glad you enjoyed the commercial and the González track, Renae. I only wish I'd found out about it in time to catch a bit of the filming.
