One thing I always liked about my summer birthday was that I never had to go to school. Even as an adult, I've scheduled vacations such that I rarely work on my birthday. This year I have to. This fact is made bearable, however, by these amazing roses and orchids (from my even more amazing husband, of course), the promise of chocolate chip cookies and a break with my dear friend Rebecca this afternoon, and the intermittent phone calls and e-mails that I've been getting, which are welcome breaks. I do love me a good birthday now and again (so far so good!).
