So we were chatting, and someone (I think me, actually) brought up the strange observation that kids' arms barely reach above their heads, yet adults' arms surpass our heads at about the elbows. More discussion yielded no definitive explanations, so we decided to bust out the measuring tape . . . We used the O'Donnells as our sample group; results are up for interpretation:
Sweet Baby Jones (not yet a Blues singer, though you might be thrown off by his name): height, er, length=24 inches, wingspan=21 inches
Bryan: height=71 1/2 inches, wingspan=73 inches
Jamie: height=68 inches, wingspan=71 inches
Now you know.
nice outfit, jonesy!
what an interesting observation. that baby's arms aren't long enough. hmmm... it has to be gravity. yes! that's what makes them longer. ha ha.
i wonder what my wingspan is?
Scottie, post if you measure. It never hurts to expand the sample group size. :) Based on the evidence we have so far, I would guess 89 inches.
I think that my arms might be longer than the average in proportion to my height. Renae, laughing, says she does not think so. I will have to see for myself and get back to you.
a very conclusive study, indeed. renae, maybe you should be a scientist.
(..and in the back of my mind, i can hear you retorting, "BUT I HAVE A JOB!") :)
I love little Jones's cheeks so much I might just explode.
