Rob Gordon's (John Cusack) bumbling proposal to/reconciliation with his girlfriend, Laura, is one that has stuck in my head since the first time I saw it. I think it plays so well because it is full of truth, especially in the insightful articulation of the value of real love (versus fantasy or infatuation).
I love that movie so, so much. I have seen it way too many times, and this is a great scene. "But you've also got the cotton underwear that's been washed a thousand times and it's hanging on the thing." Priceless.
Renae, so funny that you posted this because we came soooo close to renting this last night. Instead we rented the classic Cusack film from 1985 "Better Off Dead" which also has its moments. You and I have very similar taste in movies :)
